Sponsor A Mom Proram

Mom’s Closet Resource Center, Inc.

(MCRC) is a liaison between single moms and the resources and services in the Louisville Metro area. The center partners with other resources, businesses, and agencies in the community. MCRC is not welfare or charity, but rather a hand up and a tool to assist moms seeking an education. MCRC is a Kingdom Assignment of Northeast Christian Church. Our goal is to uplift the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of single moms, while working to secure funding for educational purposes. MCRC is dedicated to helping single mothers and their children in the state of Kentucky. We understand the road to the American dream is often full of obstacles – ones we are trying to alleviate.

Mission Statement

Mom’s Closet Resource Center, Inc. is dedicated to developing the potential of single mothers in the state of Kentucky with encouragement, education, and by setting a good example through a Christian view point.

The Food Pantry is open to any single mother and her children in the state of Kentucky. She may access the Food Pantry four times (once every three months) for the duration of one year. The only requirements to have access to this service are to present a valid driver’s license or state issued I.D. card and a Social Security Card for the mother and each child under the age of 18 in the home.

The Life Plan is reserved for single mothers who are currently attending a university, college, or any Institution of Higher Education (IHE) accredited by the state of Kentucky. After qualifying for the program, mothers who are admitted into the program will receive help with rent, utilities, and insurance. To qualify, mothers MUST supply a copy of their police record and a letter of good standing from their school. Other credentials may also be required to qualify. Life Plan mothers may access the food pantry once per month.

The Sponsor a Mom Program

Only single moms who are clients are eligible for sponsorship. The Sponsor a Mom program allows M.C.R.C. the opportunity to increase our amount of single moms to enter our program. Your sponsorship for a year will assist a mom and her children, with education fees, class supplies, textbooks, test fees and emergency assistance to meet basic needs. Such as (i.e., rent, LG&E). We also encourage the children of Life Plan moms to do well in school and to develop their God-given talents. We make it possible for them to attend camps and cultural events. We also make sure that they. too, are equipped for school (uniforms, school supplies and shoes). We invite you to take this opportunity to partner with MCRC to support a Life Plan Mom and her children.

There are 2 levels of sponsorship: full sponsorship ($2000) and half sponsorship ($1000). Included with your sponsorship, you will be provided with a profile of a mom and her children, to include at the end of the year an account of funds distributed.

Join us in helping to change the future of Kentucky’s kids one mom at a time...
